Artist

Cordeiro played a decisive role in the history of Brazilian art of the 20th century. Precursor, theorist and leader of the concrete movement in Brazil. He was the co-creator of the “PopCrete” art. By the end of his life, he became a pioneer in the use of computer in the arts in Brazil and Latin America.

Theorist

Cordeiro wrote hundreds of theoretical articles and reviews, many of them published in newspapers and catalogs of exhibitions, stating and debating tirelessly and sharply the paths taken by the Brazilian contemporary art.

Landscape Designer

From his sculptural Concretist residential gardens to plazas, parks and landscape designs, Cordeiro did more than 150 works over two decades, while disseminating modern architecture and landscaping to several parts of Brazil. Learn more here.
